Flinders Ports Holdings has re-committed to having its head office in the heart of Port Adelaide for up to 15 years.

Flinders Ports Holdings Chief Executive Officer, Mr Stewart Lammin, said the company had signed a lease on its newly renovated building at 296  St Vincent Street until 2029 and had also negotiated the right to renew its lease for a further five years beyond that time – underpinning its faith in the future of the historic heart of Port Adelaide.

The company has occupied its current offices since 1996, when it moved from the Marine and Harbors building across the road.  More than 70 staff work at the St Vincent Street location.

Flinders Port Holdings is South Australia’s leading port services group, and owns and operates Flinders Ports, Flinders Logistics and Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal – the State’s only container operator.

Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal currently supports more than 6,000 jobs with South Australian exports through the port exceeding $8 billion annually and imports, approximately $6.5 billion.

“The heart of our business lies in the heart of Port Adelaide so we’re extremely pleased to be able to stay in our current location and continue to contribute to the economic and social renewal of the Port precinct by supporting the employment of thousands of South Australians,” Mr Lammin said.

“Shipping has been the lifeblood of the LeFevre Peninsula since the earliest days of South Australia and with strengthening trade activity and the Commonwealth’s enormous investment in maritime defence at Techport, Port Adelaide faces one of the most exciting periods in its history.”

The re-leasing of the 2300 square metre offices was negotiated by Michael Rouvray of MRS Property Services.  Renovations were undertaken by the Shape Group.
