About the role

This opportunity is a 15 month contract commencing in November to cover a maternity leave vacancy.

This position will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the provision of high level accounting and financial management services, including assisting the preparation of the annual financial statements, maintenance and development of the general ledger and the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with Accounting Standards.

The role combines accounting skills with effective management and concise communication to both financial and non-financial management.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

To be successful in this role, the candidate will be CA or CPA qualified with ideally 3-5 years’ experience. They will have experience in the preparation and coordination of audited financial statements along with exposure to consolidated financial statements.

It is desirable that the candidate has had experience using Technology One (or similar) and CHRIS21 and will be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of current Australian Accounting Standards and have the ability to “think outside the box” to be able to assimilate data into financial information

Working Hours

This is a Maternity Leave contract for 15 months. It is a full time position (37.5hrs p/week) working Monday to Friday with out of hours work as required.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Group Health Safety and Environment Manager, the HSE Manager FACT will support the development and implementation of work health, safety and environmental initiatives, processes and procedures to manage the risks associated with the operations of Flinders Port Holdings, with a direct responsibility to Flinders Adelaide Container Terminal.

 

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Based on site at the Adelaide Container Terminal, monitor Port users compliance with their HSE obligations and report non-conformances
  • Implement Group HSE initiatives
  • Provide advice, interpret policies, legislation, and other instruments under agreed business protocols
  • Conduct incident investigations with line management and other relevant people, and assist in the implementation of corrective actions
  • Coordinate HSE training and deliver small training workshops as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with environmental management systems and compliance with legislation and standards
  • Coordinate internal audits conducted in accordance with risk priorities and record, report and monitor outcomes to ensure non- conformances are managed in a timely manner

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager Flinders Ports, the Marine Pilot (Thevenard) will be based in Thevenard and is responsible for the safe pilotage of vessels in Thevenard and other regional ports as required. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the General Manager with pilotage exemptions, project work or other administrative functions as directed
  • Assist in the  management of ship related matters
  • Undertake duties relating to port operations

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Marine Security Identification Card (MSIC)
  • Ability to obtain Pilot’s licence for a number of Flinders Ports’ and South Australian ports
  • Experience in the control and coordination of the functions of personnel engaged in marine activities
  • Ability to analyse problems and formulate suitable solutions and make rational decisions

Desirable:

  • A valid Pilot’s licence for any port.
  • A valid Pilot exemption for any port

 

Working Hours

This is a permanent full-time position.

After-hours work will be required as a part of this and as such flexibility to work with ever-changing shipping demands is a requirement.

This position is based at Thevenard, you will be required to live in Ceduna with relocation assistance available for the successful application.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Capital Delivery Manager, this role will suit an experienced Project Manager with proven experience in the planning and implementation of infrastructure and maintenance projects or programs of work. To be successful in this role you will be a dynamic project manager who can manage multiple priorities and use your exceptional time management and organizational skills to coordinate a risk based approach to your projects or programs of work. You will have exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to deliver a clear message and drive the delivery of successful outcomes on schedule.

 

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Delivery of low to medium project and programme outcomes as defined by the Capital Delivery Manager
  • Full project and program life cycle ownership. Successful delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for major and/or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • In consultation with delivery stakeholders, participate in the development of  project / program scopes including estimating, engineering etc. ensuring all necessary components are suitably defined to achieve positive outcomes
  • Manage delivery risks and opportunities in conjunction with business support services and teams, ensuring compliance with the corporate risk based framework and methodology for the delivery of projects outcomes
  • Ensure the most cost effective, safe and efficient outcomes are delivered
  • Ensure that the delivery of outcomes consider and provide relevant Asset information in the form of MAXIMO, Asset Registers, GIS, As Constructed drawings and O&M information and any other format as relevant to the maintenance and optimisation of the assets lifecycle
  • Identify all internal and external resources whether financial or human required to complete projects / programs successfully
  • Participate in establishing delivery methodology, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the department
  • Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration or litigation, as needed

Marine pilots are employed by Flinders Ports to help Captains safely navigate their vessels to the berth once they enter the port’s waters.

This role is a crucial role for Flinders Ports because a marine pilot’s skill and knowledge ensure that ships arriving in port do not run aground, collide with other vessels or run into infrastructure, such as navigation buoys.

All marine pilots are required to hold a Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency.
