Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Business Systems Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that business applications and systems projects meet all organizational requirements. The role requires a flexible person who can comfortably work in either a Project Management capacity or act as a Business Analyst when required. Working full-time, Monday to Friday, you will also provide specialist support for a range of business applications and systems, developing strong customer service relationships with internal users as well as external vendors and third party service providers.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Project manage the implementation of new business systems, enhancements, and upgrades in accordance with Group policies and processes
  • Manage, maintain, and provide specialist support for a range of business applications and systems
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to define business requirements, performance expectations and service levels for specific line of business applications
  • Planning and prioritisation of application enhancements, upgrades, and changes in accordance with Group policies and processes
  • Provide advice on future directions and capabilities of business applications supporting automation, mobility, information management, business intelligence and integrated reporting
  • Identify opportunities to use business applications and systems more effectively to improve operational efficiency and streamline processes

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and working as part of a team to provide Marine Services to vessels in Marine Ports and meet maintenance requirements for the port in Port Pirie and other ports as required.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Maintain and operate Flinders Ports launches for pilot transfer, minor maintenance and servicing of main engines and ancillary equipment.
  • Responsible for using Oil Pollution response equipment as necessary under the direction of Transport SA or Flinders Ports emergency response coordinators
  • Prepare statistics and reports of craft activities and performance
  • Assist with maintenance of port assets as required (e.g navigation aids).
  • Provide short term relief Launch Master service in other ports as required
  • Participate in safe mooring of vessels as port of a Mooring Team
  • Operate mooring related aides such as capstans and vehicles to assist in the safe berthing of vessels
  • Other Launch related duties as requested

A Mechanical trade qualification or Mechanical experience will be looked upon favourably, as well as previous experience in a maritime or seagoing position.

Working Hours

Although this position is permanent full time at 37.5 hours, after-hours work will be required as a part of this and as such flexibility to work with ever-changing shipping demands is a requirement.

This position is covered by the Flinders Ports and Flinders Port Management Services Enterprise Agreement – Grade 7 (MSP7) plus shipping allowances, plus consolidated allowance (Port Pirie).

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a new position within the organisation and the successful candidate will be responsible for taking a lead role in the provision of specialised financial and commercial analysis and insights to support corporate level strategic, regulatory, business development, innovation and other investment opportunities.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide insight into regulatory and business financial drivers to assist in Group decision making
  • Prepare financial models, sensitivity analysis and scenario modelling including interpretation of statistical, financial and accounting information to assist in the evaluation of strategic options, commercial development and investment decisions
  • Be responsible for the provision of specialised high level commercial analysis and evaluation of short, medium and long-term strategic corporate planning opportunities
  • Be responsible for the development of business cases and papers for new business opportunities, including commercial, operational and finical input and presentation to the relevant stakeholders
  • Provide key finance division-based modelling including asset valuation, life cycle asset costing, treasury and credit rating and other similar financial models
  • Contribute to continuously improving systems, processes and tools particularly as they enhance the vision of data analytics, innovation and/ or strategy development

Role Overview

This position reports directly to the Procurement and Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible in supporting the management of the Group’s day to day transactional Procurement activities by providing assistance in the processing of purchase orders, vendor sourcing, obtaining quotations and ensuring purchase requisitions are appropriately processed and approved in accordance with the Groups policies.

Furthermore, this position will also be responsible for vendor establishment and administration, expediting overdue purchase orders, reviewing supply data and providing reports as required.

Responsibilities for this role include:

Ensuring the operational aspects of procurement and associated activities are delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with contracts and / or established Group policies and procedures, including:

  • Resolving enquiries & providing assistance in obtaining quotations or estimates
  • Vendor sourcing & establishment
  • Assist Accounts Payable and requisitioners with reconciliations
  • Assist with expediting overdue purchase orders and correct processing of PO’s
  • Identifying errors and implementing corrective action where required
  • Maintaining the records of procurements by filing all source documents and system generated reports, and preparing reports and other documentation for management when requested.
  • Contributing to the timely and accurate performance of procurement across all Group entities.
  • Contributing to the regular review of policies and procedures to identify issues or provide improvement to current procedures and systems and continually review and update the process of procurement to ensure that it meets auditor requirements and is achieved with the maximum efficiency.

Marine pilots are employed by Flinders Ports to help Captains safely navigate their vessels to the berth once they enter the port’s waters.

This role is a crucial role for Flinders Ports because a marine pilot’s skill and knowledge ensure that ships arriving in port do not run aground, collide with other vessels or run into infrastructure, such as navigation buoys.

All marine pilots are required to hold a Master Class 1 Certificate of Competency.
