Flinders Logistics has been honoured to receive a number of state and national awards for business excellence. Since 2013 we have won a total of four accolades and have been shortlisted as a finalist for a further five awards. These awards have acknowledged Flinders Logistics’ contribution to improving work, health and safety and environmental management in the ports and logistics sectors.
2013 Premier’s Community Excellence Awards in Mining and Energy – Winner for Excellence in Environmental Management
Flinders Logistics won the South Australian Premier’s Award for Excellence in Environmental Management in April 2013. The inaugural award, which was presented at the Annual Resources Industry Dinner in Adelaide, was given in recognition of Flinders Logistics’ development of dust control technology for mineral bulk handling.
2013 SafeWork SA Awards – Winner ‘Best solution to an identified workplace health & safety issue’
Flinders Logistics won SafeWork SA’s award for ‘Best Solution to an Identified Workplace Health & Safety Issue’ in November 2013. The prestigious award, presented at the annual SafeWork SA Awards Gala Dinner in Adelaide, was given for Flinders Logistics’ container guidance system, which eliminates injury risks to workers. The award winning system, known as the Container Spreader Guidance Apparatus (CGA), competed against 35 high quality nominations, before making it onto a shortlist of five finalists.
18th Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards – Winner 2013 Environmental Transport Award
Flinders Logistics won the Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Award for Environmental Transport at a special event in Melbourne on 21 November 2013. The top honour acknowledged the company’s stakeholder engagement in developing a state-of-the-art system, which minimises dust emissions from bulk minerals along the pit-to-port supply chain.
2014 Australian Bulk Handling Awards – Winner with OZ Minerals ‘Bulk Handling Facility of the Year (Resources and Infrastructure)’
Flinders Logistics and OZ Minerals won the award for Bulk Handling Facility of the Year (Resources and Infrastructure) at the 2014 Australian Bulk Handling Awards which were held in Sydney on 6 November 2014. The award was given in recognition of a collaboration between the companies, which has produced improvements in the storage and loading of copper concentrates at Berth 29 in Port Adelaide.
Flinders Logistics has also achieved recognition as a finalist for several other safety, environmental and commercial achievement awards.
