Emma Dangerfield, the 2015 Dux of Ocean View College, has been awarded a Flinders Ports Scholarship. The $1000 prize was presented to Emma at an Ocean View College special assembly on 23rd February. It was given in recognition of the star student’s academic excellence and will assist with the initial costs of university.

“As a major local employer, we aim to support the local community, and in particular assist young people to reach their potential,” said Mr Vincent Tremaine, Chief Executive Officer of Flinders Port Holdings.

Eighteen year old Emma, who achieved an ATAR score of 95.3 in her year 12 exams, will study a Bachelor of Science and Diploma of Languages at the University of Adelaide.

“We congratulate Emma on her outstanding academic achievement and wish her every success with her studies and future career,” said Mr Tremaine.

For more than 10 years, the Flinders Ports Scholarship has been awarded to a year 12 Ocean View College student, who has excelled academically. The scholarship is part of Flinders Ports’ extensive sponsorship program, which supports the communities in and around the company’s seven South Australian Ports.
