Thevenard has mean high spring tides of 1.67 metres and mean high neap tides of 1.08 metres. Communications on VHF radio telephonic channels, 6, 8, 12, 16, 67 are with the call sign “Adelaide VTS”.

- Berthing is restricted to daylight only for ships not equipped with bow thrusters
- Sailing is permitted day or night
- Yatala Channel depth in approaches – 8.2 metres
